Recreation/Donation Grant

To promote the health and well-being of ʔAkisq̓nuk First Nation Members, we aim to facilitate their access to education programs, recreation, sporting, cultural, and social opportunities through fair and equitable access to financial assistance and member services.

Financial Hardship Assistance

Financial Hardship Assistance Grant

ʔAkisq̓nuk First Nation recognizes that some members may occasionally face circumstances impacting their ability to pay for non-discretionary household expenses and basic needs. This policy details the financial assistance available to those members who are experiencing genuine financial hardship.

Financial hardship refers to a lack of financial means, which can be temporary or ongoing. Therefore, if a member of the ʔAkisq̓nuk First Nation intends to pay for essential household expenses, such as food or basic utilities, but lacks the financial capacity to do so, they are considered to be in a state of financial hardship. Chief and Council are committed to enhancing member services by providing additional support to assist those in this situation, including access to education programs aimed at improving financial literacy and stability.
