
ʔakisq̓nuk is currently engaged in a variety of projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing economic development within the community. This includes initiatives like the Lakeshore Resort and Campground, Columbia Lake Recreation Center, Eva Joseph Learning and Cultural Society, and Commercial Lot Development. Furthermore, ʔakisq̓nuk collaborates with other Ktunaxa Nation Economic Development offices through Ktunaxa Enterprises, actively promoting local entrepreneurs.
The Member Services Department focuses on housing programming, development, and support for community members. In terms of education, efforts range from pre-kindergarten through high school and into post-secondary education, including non-traditional programs and workshops that foster ongoing learning.
For recreation, ʔakisq̓nuk manages the Recreation Centre, which was built in 2019, offering a hub for community activities. The health and wellness aspect is addressed through various programming designed to enhance overall health services in the region. Additionally, the Lands & Resources department advocates for responsible stewardship of traditional territories, while the infrastructure team ensures the maintenance and development of existing buildings and assets.
