This date marks when both parties signed the Elkhorn Ranch Specific Claims Agreement and aligns with the broader economic plans and fiscal services outlined for the community.
The Council has selected First Nations Bank (FNB) Trust to act as the trustee for minors eligible to receive a per capita distribution from the Elkhorn Land Claim Settlement. Administration is currently collaborating with First Nations Bank to establish these trusts as part of our broader Economic Plans. As part of the setup process, FNB will hold information sessions and prepare a FAQ document to provide minors and their guardians with essential information about the trusts. Additional details regarding these information sessions and the timeline for setting up the trusts will be circulated to minors and their guardians shortly. Applications for withdrawals from the minors' trusts, in accordance with the Elkhorn Settlement Proceeds Policy and managed under our Fiscal Services, will be considered once the trusts are established.
